According to DeAngelis, her doctors informed her that her masses were nearly invisible and described them as “corn flakes crushed in a bag like grains of sand”. The cancer was caught at such an early stage that it wasn’t detectable by touch and showed no physical symptoms.

1. A lumpectomy followed by radiation, chemotherapy, and monitoring every six months
